During the first four months of pregnancy or if any reason to fear possible miscarriage during any time in pregnancy, certain essential oils are to be avoided.

However the benefits to mum-to-be during the second and third trimester can be enormous on an emotional and physical level. If used correctly and with the respect they deserve they can treat many of the everyday complaints suffered by pregnant women in a natural and gentle way at a time when it is particularly advisable to avoid chemical drugs.

This chart below is a guide to help relieve the symptoms and discomfort of some everyday ailments encountered during pregnancy.

1 Drop of either. Tissue: Wave under nose.

1 Drop each to 1tspn of KY Jelly, Vaseline, or Aqueous Cream. Apply twice daily to affected area.
1 Drop each to large bowl warm water. Bathe: Sit in bowl for 10 minutes twice daily.
SOOTHE PERENIUM (After Birth) LAVENDER 2 Drops in bowl ice water Bathe: (Sitz Bath) To relieve discomfort and soak stitches.
OEDEMA
Fluid Retention
(Temporary Relief of Symptoms)
GERANIUM
4 Drops in 25ml Carrier oil. Massage: Legs, ankles and arms.
2 Drops in bowl warm water Foot Bath: For swollen feet.
NOTE: IF FLUID RETENTION PERSISTS SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE.
STRETCH MARKS MANDARIN
6 Drops in 15ml Carrier oil (JOJOBA, WHEATGERM) Massage: Thighs, upper legs light strokes only on abdomen. Apply twice daily.
